OPTEX 862-22-WXI-R Outdoor Wireless 180° PIR Detector
The OPTEX 862-22-WXI-R is a high-performance outdoor wireless PIR detector designed for wide-area perimeter protection around homes, commercial buildings, warehouses, gardens, driveways and outdoor approach areas. Part of the OPTEX WX Infinity series, it provides a broad 180° detection pattern with up to 12m detection range, making it ideal for protecting large open spaces with a single detector.
The WXI-R features two independent left and right detection zones, allowing each side to be individually adjusted for detection range and sensitivity. This makes it especially useful for outdoor environments where trees, driveways, paths, walls or boundary lines need to be managed separately to reduce nuisance alarms.
Using OPTEX SMDA logic, the detector digitally analyses environmental changes such as moving vegetation, temperature shifts and weather conditions to help distinguish genuine intrusions from false triggers. Its AND logic detection principle further improves stability by triggering only when both upper and lower detection areas detect movement.
Designed for wireless alarm installations, the WXI-R operates from 3–9V DC battery power and provides low current consumption for efficient long-term use. With an IP55-rated outdoor housing, selectable pulse count and rugged weather-resistant construction, it delivers reliable external detection in demanding conditions.
