The OPTEX 862-01-FTN-ST FTN Wired Detector is a compact outdoor PIR detector designed to protect vulnerable entry points such as gates, windows, balconies, patios, driveways and narrow outdoor approaches. With its short-range curtain-style detection, flexible mounting and intelligent false-alarm reduction technology, it delivers reliable perimeter protection in a discreet, professional package.
Designed for outdoor security applications, the FTN-ST offers a selectable 5m or 2m narrow detection range, making it ideal for areas where focused protection is required without unnecessary wide-area triggering. Its built-in bracket allows up to 190° horizontal adjustment, giving installers excellent flexibility for wall-mounted positioning.
The detector uses dual PIR detection, SMDA logic and Intelligent AND logic to help distinguish genuine intrusions from environmental movement, pets and nuisance triggers. Its IP55-rated UV-resistant ASA body is built for outdoor durability, while the operating temperature range of -20°C to +60°C makes it suitable for demanding South African conditions.
